The Democratic Executive Committees of Glades, Henry, Highlands and Okeechobee have joined in a cooperative effort to host the annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner. In the past each County has hosted their own dinner with the proceeds being used for high school scholarships programs. Due to the current economic environment, our organizations have significantly reduced their scholarship dollars.
Rhett Bullard, Vice Chairman of the Florida Democratic Party will be the keynote speaker. Candidates that have confirmed their attendance are Kendrick Meek and Kevin Burns for US Senate, Cris Craft for US Representative, Alex Sink, Farid
Khavari and Michael Arth for Governor, Dave Aronberg and Dan Gelber for Attorney General, Randy Hatch and Rick Minton for Commissioner of Agriculture, and State Senator Pete Burkert District 27.
The prime rib dinner will be held on Friday November 13th at the Okeechobee KOA beginning at 6:15PM with social time and dinner being served at 7:15PM. Dinner tickets ($30) are available at Porters Cleaners or by calling Adean Miller at 863-467-1021.
